Francis Marion Hotel, Charleston Hotels ReviewsAddress: 387 King Street, Charleston, SC 29403-6468
The reservation claimed it was a recently renovated room. The room was tired looking and not very clean. The remote was sticky, as was the television. The bathroom grout was dark brown, and wasn't supposed to be. Overall, disappointing.
It was our first trip to Charleston so we wanted to make it special and stay in a beautiful, period hotel. Francis Marion Hotel is exquisite. The renovation that has been performed to update this hotel, but still leave the original details from the 1920's makes this an amazing place to stay. The location is fantastic as everything in the…More
I've stayed at the Francis Marion several times. It's always a perfectly safe and easy stay. The hotel is very convenient to most everything and the staff is always friendly. The rooms are well appointed and clean. The only complaint is that there is not enough staff on hand to help with the valet parking. The front desk and everything…More
First let me say the elevators are slow, but there are three, so very little wait time. Second the bathrooms are small (think tiny) but they have great water pressure and hot water is hot and fast to heat up. We had a corner king room that was spacious with good views of the harbor and overlooking the historic district….More

We are staying here for the weekend. Great location, but what an out of date dump. Staff is friendly, but the hotel is so rundown. The elevators were filthy. The room was horrible. I attached a few pics, that don't even do justice of how disgusting it was. The carpet was filthy. I could tell they didn't vacuum it and…More
We take a great deal of pride in our property and its history, Brandon. While we are currently progressing through a few different renovation efforts, your stay should still be as comfortable and relaxing as possible. If there is anything about your room and its facilities that aren’t to your expectation, I would hope you mentioned it to our staff….More CatherineTSNashville, TennesseeLevel Contributor 9 reviews 4 hotel reviews2 helpful votes
If you want a hotel that is reasonably priced for Charleston, not a chain hotel, has charm, is in a great location to walk everywhere, and has a staff that seems to enjoy their work, then you need to stay at the Francis Marion. We stayed 3 nights for a wedding and had a room on the 4th floor which…More

Our stay at the Francis Marion Hotel was delightful. The rooms are lovely, yet a bit on the small size. While we were at dinner, the concierge texted us to let us know we could communicate with the hotel via text. It was a surprise to hear from the hotel! We had a question about where to buy chocolate and…More

I am an event coordinator with a financial service company in Charlotte, NC. We chose the Francis Marion Hotel for our annual conference in Charleston, SC. and I could not be happier with the beautiful hotel accommodations, event ballrooms and the entire staff at this hotel.
