Chicago Marriott at Medical District/UIC Hotel Hotels Reviews

Address: 625 S Ashland Ave, Chicago, IL 60607-3101

I picked this location because it is close to a concert venue I has going to that night. Hotel shuttle dropped me off at the venue but it wasn't running when the show was over. I took a taxi back to the hotel which was right outside venue. Check in was easy and I used a AAA discount on a…More

Stayed overnight to watch our daughter play at UIC. Glad I had hotel points, as it is pricey to stay here!Lovely hotel, room was immaculate, beds were amazing (though very high for a short person like me! haha). Always a little disgruntled when I see fees to park at ANY hotel. Makes me crazy – and $45??? As such,…More

This Marriott is basically the only convenient option for anybody needing to be in the area of Rush. Second stay and similar to the first–generally good property with a few quirks. Rooms are typical size with mini-fridge, coffee/tea maker, modern TV and tons of ways to connect/charge. You can hear hall noise and doors closing but little noise from outside….More

Nice hotel, clean, great staff.Very friendly and knowledgeable about surrounding area.I cam for a work conf at the McCormick downtown. The show provided a shuttle from the hotel entrance right to McCormick place, so that is a big bonus, as I DO NOT like to drive around Chicago anywhere NEAR morning or afternoon rush. The valets were very nice…More

Overall Hotel was nice and staff was friendly. Minor nits: hotel carpet and decor seemed a bit dated and carpets in halls need some help… breakfast buffet was great! Also other items – the toilet seat doesnt stay up on it's own and the flusher handle is way under the counter making it oddly placed. otherwise good place decent location.

I stayed this past weekend for a medical conference at Rush Medical Center. The location was quite convenient as I was able to walk across the street to the medical center. Furthermore, it is a short taxi ride to the Navy Pier District which has many opportunities for shopping and restaurant. Like my many experiences with Marriott, the room was…More

The hotel is directly across from Rush hospital. The hotel is clean, modern, and nicely furnished. Since it is only 4 stories, there are no spectacular views of the Chicago skyline. The bed was a pillow top and just ok. The shower was good as was all the bath supplies. The room was a very generous size with desk, chairs,…More

This Marriott is in walking distance to Rush Hospital where Mother was a patient. Also close to Cook County, U of I and VA hospitals. Newspaper available every morning in the hallway outside my room. Fresh beer and nosh in the restaurant-black bean hummus is recommended. Courteous and knowledgeable staff, day and night. I expected to hear a lot of traffic…More

While this Marriott proclaims it is a nonsmoking facility and will charge a guest a cleaning fee if they do smoke, what they do NOT do is eject that guest once the infraction occurs. That = even more smoking by the guest. I have been awake since 2:30 a.m. this morning due to the pervasive stench of cigarette smoking from…More

Thank you for your feedback. It is true the hotel is 100% smoke free building like all public buildings in Chicago. We have signs and notices posted all over the hotel letting guests know that this is a smoke free building. Unfortunately once in while someone decides to violate the smoke free policy. When this happens and it is brought…More FrankC7113Bloomington, IllinoisLevel Contributor 131 reviews 48 hotel reviews36 helpful votes

This Marriott is within walking distance of Rush Medical Center which makes this hotel a great option for patients with early morning procedures. The hotel is average otherwise. There is NO guest parking other than valet at $23 a night. We left early and did not use the restaurant but my impression was that it was full service. Convenience but…More
