I can't say enough good things about the Burnham and their staff. The staff went out of their way to meet our special requests, gave great suggestions for restaurants, and generally were friendly and helpful. The nightly wine hour was fun and an excellent selection of morning newspapers was provided. The rooms were small, but well appointed, very clean and…More

What a great hotel. Staff are very friendly and remember your name which is odd for an English guy but very nice! I asked for a European adapter and they lent me one and delivered it to my room. Room size is perfect and having a bath is nice. No coffee facilities in the room but maybe that's normal in…More

I discovered the Kimpton chain of boutique hotels a few years ago and they've become my hotel of choice whenever I travel. I love the decor and comfort – my current stay was wonderful. I had a spacious room with incredible views of the city including Millennium Park and the lake. I'm always amazed at how Kimpton employees make you…More

My boyfriend and I stayed 5 days at the Kimton burnham in April. The stay was wonderful. The stay was very friendly and the hotel was very clean. We are looking forward to saying in the Kimpton Allegro over new years! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to chicago. The location is great and I have no…More

Without such high expectations, the Burnham is likely four stars, but I was anticipating more. The service was great, from the doormen to the front desk to room service delivery – all five-star in nature. The room was the disappointment – it was remarkably average. The furniture (dresser and desk in particular) looked worn and old; the decor in the…More

From check-in to check-out, our stay at the Burnham Hotel was fantastic. We had told the hotel it was our anniversary and upon opening the door to our upgraded suite, we were met with champagne, cupcakes, towel swans and rose petals on the bed. The second night, the hotel sent up chocolates and more champagne. The hotel is beautiful with…More

I have yet to find a Kimpton hotel I didn't love and this one was no exception. Great location across from the Macy's on State Street. Super clean room. Free wine hour. Warm welcome from the reception desk. Walking distance from Union Station. Couldn't ask for a better stay!

The hotel is in the Reliance Building, which was built in the 1890s and has been fully refurbished. Several floors (the top floors) have marble walls in the hallways and other fixtures from the original building. (There was a phone on a small table in thehallway that looked like it was from the early 20th century.) There is an…More

I booked this hotel because of the great reviews and historic character. The historic elevators were charming, but the room was average and bathroom vanity was the smallest of any hotel I have stayed in. A staff member delivered something to the people next door at 11pm and stayed and talked for a few minutes, which was very noisy and…More

My wife and I stayed at the Kimpton Burnham Hotel for her 60th birthday. The location is perfect. It is close to the theater district and the lake front. The hotel staff was very friendly and extremely helpful, especially Malcolm. The rooms are clean and the hotel has 1920 style decor. Note that the bar closes at 10:30 on Fridays….More
