Hotel was okay and the cleaning staff was good, but the front desk help needs serious training! Went down stairs to ask the desk clerk a question the first night we were there and the clerk was curled up on the sofa in front of the TV talking on a cell phone. After standing in front of her trying to…More

We hope you will give us another try.More Ram PNorthville, MichiganLevel Contributor 84 reviews 23 hotel reviews19 helpful votes

Stayed here on this quick trip to Chicago. This is very close to Kenwood academy and university of Chicago. The place is clean, neat and quiet. The room was spacious with 2 queen beds. It had a refrigerator and a microwave. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They let me have a late checkout in spite being sold out…More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. The hotel is convenient to the institutions you mentioned, as well as the Museum of Science and Industry, Hyde Park architecture, fine dining experiences and much more. We can’t recommend a dip in Lake Michigan at this moment in autumn, but there are wonderful walk-to beaches in the summer. We…More shannon c1 review

Great hotel! Very nice staff, who were very knowledgable about the neighborhood. Steered us to a great restaurant. Walking distance to Museum of Science and Industry. The hotel was clean, quiet, nice breakfast, and free parking. We will definitely be back..

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. The walk to the Museum of Science and Industry is about to get colder. But we’ll take you there via our shuttle! People believe that Chicago is called the Windy City because of the weather. Actually, the name came from a writer who was commenting on politicians, a whole different kind…More Craig WOmaha, NebraskaLevel Contributor 47 reviews 9 hotel reviews10 helpful votes

We stayed here because it was close to University of Chicago and had free parking. The hotel is quiet, provides a good breakfast (when rude people don't make it something else), and the staff are kind (for the most part). The staff taking care of breakfast are kind, considerate, and try to keep things clean/restocked. Props to them!

Thanks for writing a review. We will share your kind remarks with our staff. The hotel, as you noted, is very close to the University of Chicago. Walkers could easily get there (in warm weather), passing the Museum of Science and Industry and the Japanese gardens. Please come again.More 81skateDenver, ColoradoLevel Contributor 35 reviews 16 hotel reviews31 helpful votes

Close to the museum campus. Cute neighborhood to get Chicago style pizza. I will only stay here when in Chicago to save money with parking and breakfast. This is an easy hotel to find and right off the highway.

Thanks for writing a review. “Chicago-style pizza.” Even Chicagoans argue the merits of thin crust versus thick crust. And there is the Chicago hot dog, which is utterly unique. All the food of the world is in this great city. I could eat Thai every day for the rest of my life. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay. I would recommend this hotel clean and fairly quiet. The roof top garden was a nice touch. I enjoyed the free parking not often do you find a hotel with free Parking in Chicago. There is restaurant next to the hotel and downtown Chicago isn't to far away.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. The restaurant you refer to is the Lake Shore Cafe, with spacious dining rooms, a friendly bar, and seafood buffet and jazz every Friday night. You are the first person to mention the rooftop garden. Our shuttle can take guests to the Loop, and there are plenty of public transportation…More mooshell28Minneapolis, Minnesota1 review

Check in was a breeze. Nice location just south of downtown. Easy bus access. Loved the free parking! My king suite was clean and roomy. I am very particular when it comes to cleanliness and I was satisfied with their house keeping. Free breakfast was good just needed more protein, I'd say. I really had no complaints though! Would recommend!

Thanks for writing a review. The breakfast needs more protein–noted. We’re delighted that you found our hotel so inviting. We look forward to seeing you again.More Koko ANewburgh, IndianaLevel Contributor 18 reviews

Managers, service help, everyone was great and friendly, hotel was very clean and well maintained, I would recommend this hotel to everyone, We were greeted at the front desk and felt like royalty, rooms were very good size and free parking was a plus. Great location for all Chicago attractions, loved the place

Thanks for writing a review. We have shared your comments with the staff. You are right: the hotel is literally surrounded with attractions, from the Museum of Science and Industry to Navy Pier and beyond, all accessible by our complimentary shuttle or by buses and trains. Come again!More Brian K

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of days and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is completely renovated. It's brand spanking new! It is right on Lake Shore Drive looking at the water. The best part is parking is FREE! AND available! That is a huge advantage for a Chicago hotel, and particularly in this area where parking spaces…More
