We got the hotel as part of an air/hotel package and was very satisfied. Staff is very accommodating and helpful, location is great- less than a block from the Magnificent Mile, John Hancock Building, close to restaurants , easy access to bus line and a few blocks to the train. Also, a 10-15 minute walk to the beach.Review collected in partnership with this hotel This business uses tools provided by TripAdvisor (or one of its official Review Collection Partners) to encourage and collect guest reviews, including this one.

Fair. Room was way too small compared to previous rooms. Been staying there since the early 90's.Bathroom awkward, the shelf was too close to the toilet. Next time bigger and better room. Let's see how do I say this another way rather than repeat. Room was too small. Staff is great. Room is clean. But the room was way…More Review collected in partnership with this hotel This business uses tools provided by TripAdvisor (or one of its official Review Collection Partners) to encourage and collect guest reviews, including this one.

I was a little disappointed that there was no small refrigerator in the room other than the "rather pricey mini bar". My daughter ran the Chicago marathon and we wanted to do some sightseeing too. There was no ice machine on the floor but it was available through the front desk. I called for 3 buckets, got 2. Room service…More Review collected in partnership with this hotel This business uses tools provided by TripAdvisor (or one of its official Review Collection Partners) to encourage and collect guest reviews, including this one.

I wrote an honest review (yesterday 10/14/16) of The Whitehall Hotel, which was less than sterling.I mentioned the uncomfortable bed, the charge for the umbrella and the fact that people hang around the lobby a good part of the day with luggage, making for a less than pleasant lobby experience.10/15/16- in the midst of unpacking last evening I…More

We loved this hotel. We thought the staff was friendly. The location was excellent. The breakfast in the restaurant downstairs was really good. overall, we loved this hotel. We could walk everywhere. It was only 1 block from the waterfront trail so we rented bikes and rode them everywhere. It was nice being right on the magnificent mile. I highly suggest staying at the Whitehall. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location being right in the middle of rush street and Michigan Avenue (Magnificent Mile). Also it is only a block away from the Hancock Tower. We stayed in a Junior Suite. It was a great value. The room was really…More

Excellent Hotel and Friendly staff. Location is excellent being right next to the John Hancock building and the Magnificent Mile. The room was luxurious and spacious. Given that we were in America for the Ryder cup the inclusion of the Golf Channel on cable was also very welcome.Only downside to room was that we were facing an exterior wall…More Review collected in partnership with this hotel This business uses tools provided by TripAdvisor (or one of its official Review Collection Partners) to encourage and collect guest reviews, including this one.

The Whitehall was a good base for a few days in Chicago. Our room was clean and reasonably spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful; staff responded to problem with the non-functioning cold water tap in our room with prompt delivery of a large carafe of cold water and ice and next-morning service to repair the problem.Review collected in partnership with this hotel This business uses tools provided by TripAdvisor (or one of its official Review Collection Partners) to encourage and collect guest reviews, including this one.

We got a good deal on booking.com to stay here for 3 nights for $267 in total. I was so pleased with the deal and hoped the hotel would be nice. I wasn't disappointed! Our room (807) looked out onto the street. It was very large and well decorated, with nice amenities in the bathroom. We felt completely relaxed the…More
