, Not a good experience; room not ready at 3pm check in, outside areas really bad and felt dirty, room door had graffiti on it, room a good size but dirty floors and in desperate need of an update, roaches running about, breakfast awful with stale bagels and other equally unappetizing things! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and…MoreReportHelpful?Thank koalasbush Kathleen T, General Manager at Red Roof Inn Galveston – Beachfront/Convention Center, responded to this reviewThank you for taking the time for your feedback. It was decent enough for what I paid for the rooms. Staff was very nice and helpful with any situations we had. They even warmed up the pool a little more because of the cool front that came in. Pretty view of the beachotdog. Liked the location able to walk around to other places.ReportHelpful?Thank 48sanchez Tamera TLevel Contributor4 reviews3 hotel reviews

Horrible hotel, old, dirty, loud, transient type people living in the hotel. Not so secure. Waited a while for our room to be ready well after check in, had to drive around Galveston an hour or two to wait for a call from the front desk. Room was a "king suite"….a kind dump….air wouldn't cool, had one towel, no coffee…MoreReportHelpful?Thank Tamera T Kathleen T, General Manager at Red Roof Inn Galveston – Beachfront/Convention Center, responded to this reviewThank you, Tamara, for posting a review. The room smelled musty and the bathroom smelled like someone smoked in it even though it was a non-smoking room. There was one washcloth and 2 bath towels but no hand towel. The breakfast was nothing special. no butter or spread for the muffins, the cereal choices were mostly sugary, and the area wasn't kept clean. The staff seemed friendly,…MoreReportHelpful?Thank Kathleen G Kathleen T, General Manager at Red Roof Inn Galveston – Beachfront/Convention Center, responded to this reviewThank you, Kathleen, for posting a review.I would like to apologize for any odors in your room. The location was perfect. We don't mind walking a couple miles one way or the other, so in that respect, it was no hardship and very centrally located for everything we wanted on the Seawall. Some beautiful cemeteries were less than a block in some cases, great shops, lots of food and attractions including the beautiful beach is at your…MoreReportHelpful?Thank Kitty B MIKE SSAN ANTONIOLevel Contributor57 reviews17 hotel reviews34 helpful votes

Good: Very friendly staff, great location directly across from seawall/beach, convenient to most sites in area (Moody Gardens, Strand, Schlitterbahn, Pleasure Pier, Flight Museum, etc). Generally well maintained area and pool (no Jacuzzi) and prices are reasonable. The maid staff was efficient and cleaned room well. Covered parking. Beds were OK and pillows acceptable. AC worked well.Less than Good:…MoreReportHelpful?Thank MIKE S Geoffrey CROUND ROCKLevel Contributor3 reviews3 hotel reviews1 helpful vote

The only reason I was able to take a week long vacation was finding a deal on this site for a room here averaging $50 a night. I saw some of the other reviews and decided that a little rest and relaxation outweighed the bad. I understand the building is old, and luckily I can take a lot of punishment…MoreReportHelpful?1Thank Geoffrey C Kathleen T, General Manager at Red Roof Inn Galveston – Beachfront/Convention Center, responded to this reviewThank you, Mr. Curley, for your review. We had never visited Galveston before and did not know what to expect of the area, we decided to stay at the Red Roof Inn despite the ratings. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff. The room was basic but clean. We did have to keep going to the front desk to get bath supplies, each the only…MoreReportHelpful?Thank Vicky B Aquaticlandscapes2 reviews1 helpful vote
