Terrace Inn on the Water Hotel, Gatlinburg Hotels Reviews

Address: 396 Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN 37738-4962

Drove by this afternoon and they are bulldozing the Terrace Inn on the Water. This old motel is on one of the loudest, most beautiful creeks in Gatlinburg. Sadly it has gone downhill in recent years. If you wanted ice, the owner would give you a small bag out of his own frig. Have not heard of any future plans….MoreReportHelpful?Thank Brenda M SnowChikState College, PALevel Contributor24 reviews4 hotel reviews7 helpful votes

While this accommodation may be considered, perhaps, not first class, it's just a Mom-and-Pop (or Mom and Sons, in this case) kind of place, the price is right and you can't find friendlier people or a better spot on the river. Rooms are clean but rustic, and there's no breakfast, but places are nearby where you can get a great…MoreReportHelpful?Thank SnowChik Rogers52865Knoxville, Tennessee1 review

My husband booked a weekend getaway and picked here because of the balcony over the river. The room was terrible. The carpet was all torn up and stained, The bathroom smelled of urine. The AC was not adjustable so it stayed very cold in the room and rattled all night. There was obvious leaks in the ceiling where it was…MoreReportHelpful?Thank Rogers52865 Mick RKnoxville, TennesseeLevel Contributor12 reviews

Rented this one without reading the reviews for the balcony overlooking the stream. The stream was nice but the room was well past run down and had a bad smell, not to mention the dog next door to us that barked all day while it's family was out. Will skip this one next time & find anotherReportHelpful?Thank Mick R leahbaneNashville, TennesseeLevel Contributor8 reviews1 helpful vote

My friend had booked this because everywhere else was full. Don't let the pictures fool you, there are only 2 "cabins", the rest of the rooms are motel type rooms. The pool looked like it hadn't been usable in over 20 years. We decided we would rather sleep in the car, so we went to the front desk and got…MoreReportHelpful?1Thank leahbane Dayner24KY1 review1 helpful vote

I am use to staying in older lower star hotels so the reviews I read didn't steer me away but I wish I had of. Our room wasn't very clean. You could see the dust on the television screen. The air conditioner was so loud we had to change rooms. There were cookies on the floor. The sheets on the…MoreReportHelpful?1Thank Dayner24 TerraceInn1, General Manager at Terrace Inn on the Water, responded to this reviewSorry to hear that your stay wasn't great. We visit the area a few times a year, this being the Fall leaf season all the motels were quite a bit more that usual. It was a beautiful day, and a porch overlooking the river sounded really pleasant. The rooms with 2 beds in them or a double bed were taken , but she offered us a good deal…MoreReportHelpful?Thank kit-kat40 TerraceInn1, General Manager at Terrace Inn on the Water, responded to this reviewLet me start off by thanking you for your review. So where to start? Ok the hotel says recently remodeled. Thats a stretch to say the least. The room smells musty and is dimly lit. It has sheet rock mud fixing holes everywhere. The air conditioner is so loud that we had to turn it off because it kept waking our baby. I tried to call the front desk to…MoreReportHelpful?1Thank stricnine TerraceInn1, Owner at Terrace Inn on the Water, responded to this reviewHello,Let me start off by saying I am sorry for the trouble you had. We are a very small family owned and operated motel. By no means are we a new branded hotel. Our rooms were updated about 5 years ago from the 30 year old rooms before. But one thing I learned is you can have a room…MorechristamramyersSharon Grove, KentuckyLevel Contributor10 reviews5 helpful votes

It is farther to walk than we like. We usually like to stay right up in the action of the parkway. It was not bad the the price. We will probably not choose this place again. They are a little stingy on the towels and real stingy on the soap and shampoo. There was not even any tissues and a…MoreReportHelpful?Thank christamramyers Patti PCrittenden, Kentucky, United States1 review
